Hotel Plaza Central Canning

The room itself was nice enough, but the service at the front desk left a lot to be desired. We arrived at 10:00 at night after a long day of travel and asked the night attendant about coffee and a hot pot. He said there wasn’t any and told us to “just go buy it in the morning.” He came across as short and somewhat rude, which was disappointing for a big city hotel that presents itself as an airport hotel. There actually was a hotpot, a small fridge, and a microwave in the room, but no coffee, cups, or plates. I’m not sure why they have a kitchenette.

There’s plenty to do right at the location, with restaurants, shopping, banks, and a currency exchange hut by the front street. I stayed on the 1st floor and liked the gym, especially its view. The staff were friendly and could speak English. It’s close to the airport, and I’d stay here again instead of going all the way into downtown Buenos Aires. Good value. It took me a while to find the hotel, since it’s on the rear side of the mall area. From the main street, go into the store areas and keep heading towards the end; there are clear signs pointing the way. Free parking is available at the back, though it’s a dirt lot and not paved.

Friendly, helpful front desk, and the room was big with a fridge. It was clean in a bare-bones way, but dated, with shower and hair soap. There was no tea kettle or coffee maker, and no shower cap. The location worked for mall lovers and is right off the freeway. Staying here to be nearer the airport instead of the city was questionable for me, since it saved only 15 minutes. There were many restaurant options, and some were okay.

We needed somewhere in Buenos Aires at the last minute, reasonably near the airport, and this worked out well. The staff were friendly. I also liked having the shopping area attached, along with different food options.
