The location is excellent, with plenty of places to eat nearby. The breakfast voucher at the café next door covers a basic breakfast, which was enough. The rooms are spacious, attractive, well maintained, and clean. There’s a full kitchen, comfortable beds, and a balcony looking onto a pleasant, quiet street. My issue was reception. There were three people working there, but one gentleman made my stay extremely uncomfortable. On the first morning he rudely demanded payment for the booking, even though the company that hired me for work in the city was meant to pay, as we had agreed for the following afternoon. Later that morning, when I came back from the gym, he moved me to a room directly below construction that had already been going on for three days. He also got my name wrong on one breakfast voucher. Two days later, he tried to take my girlfriend’s access card, even though staff had already agreed she could be on the reservation without any problem. He seemed to think he owned the place and ignored what I’d arranged with the other staff. Without this bespectacled gentleman, I’d have given the hotel a 10/10.

The rooms were very comfortable, the place was beautiful, and the receptionist was really helpful. We spent our wedding night there, and they were meant to let us check out late. Then they told us the room was already occupied, which took a little shine off the experience.

I lost my room key by accident, and reception said a replacement would cost extra. I couldn’t get into my room, so I had no choice. At checkout the next day, they charged me $20,000 for it. For the quality of the hotel, I feel replacing a key should be part of the service, or at least cost a reasonable amount.

The location is unbeatable, and all the staff we dealt with were incredibly friendly. We stayed from Thursday night until Sunday morning. The room was lovely and had everything we needed: a sink, kitchen, fridge, microwave, electric kettle, and even yerba mate. But the cutlery wasn’t clean. I had to wash everything, from the spoons to the plates, before using it. We put up a sign asking for the room to be cleaned on Saturday, and nobody came. That was pretty frustrating. When we raised it, the receptionist at least replaced the trash bags and towels. Breakfast is at Bonafide next door. Nothing special, but pleasant enough. Even with the dirty cutlery and missed cleaning, we’d recommend the place and stay again.
