Estancia El Bordo de las Lanzas

The horseback ride with Agustìn’s nephew was a real highlight, and I only wish I’d had more time to fish and explore the property. I’ll come back. Rosa’s cooking was fantastic, with local food throughout, including mango chutney made from fruit in the garden and paella that Agustìn made for lunch for his family and me. Agustìn is a legend, and his whole family made me feel welcome and had a great sense of fun. Ask him about the farm, the family, and the region, he knows so much. I don’t say this lightly, but this is one of the most magical places I’ve ever visited.

After more than a month of hectic travel, the big garden with fruit trees and a pool was just the peaceful break we needed. We loved that meals were served in a different part of the neo colonial house each time. The colonial style house, with a huge tree growing in the middle, made it feel like we’d gone back in time. We arrived late and were immediately served a hearty dinner on the beautiful veranda. Augustin and the staff welcomed us so warmly and were incredibly friendly and generous. Staying here is a must when visiting Salta. We really recommend riding the horses across the wide fields of tobacco and sugar crops.

I was traveling on my own, and Agustin arranged for me to have dinner with different members of his extended family or friends each night. The meals were fantastic. There are lots of ways to spend the day, whether relaxing, riding, biking, taking a cooking class, or visiting the Andes and other nearby places. I especially loved riding around the estate on gentle horses, with panoramic countryside and mountain views. I also got to practice my Spanish on those rides and learn about local plants, animals, and birds. I spent four magical days at the Estancia with Agustín and his extended family in February 2022. It was the best part of my time in Argentina and one of my best travel experiences. The beautiful, spacious bedrooms are full of family antiques, and there are lovely shared spaces, including gardens and a swimming pool. More than just a place to stay, it gives you an immersive look at the history, traditions, and modern life of an Estancia. I’ll remember it for the rest of my life. Thank you!

A great place to get away from the city rush, leave your routine behind, and be out in nature. estancia El Bordo de las Lanzas is simply amazing. Don’t hesitate to come.
