Aquiles Village

It was such a peaceful, beautiful place for a lovely weekend. The room stayed cool and was comfortable, which mattered during a very hot weekend, and the staff who welcomed us were so attentive. I'd come back.

The food was really good, and the portions were generous. They ask what you'd like and have several choices to suit your preferences or dietary needs. Service was friendly the whole time, too. It's a very nice place. You may hear some traffic when the highway is busy, since it's so close by. Highly recommend!

The main problem for us was the value. We paid almost $23,000 for a typical hotel weekend, and felt that was far too much for a place offering a pool and pool table. The accommodation left us very disappointed. We stayed from November 12, 2022, to November 13, 2022, for a wedding nearby. Aquiles was convenient to the venue, with check-in at 11 a.m. and checkout at 6 p.m. the next day. We chose it because of its good reviews. The room had a quaint feel, and having only a few rooms meant there weren't many guests. Before booking, my questions were answered promptly, but even after I complained a couple of times, they never sent confirmation or a voucher. There were cobwebs in the room, two spiders in the bathtub, and stains on the bedding. The dry breakfast was handed to me at check-in for the following day, though I expected it to be fresh. Each room has a refrigerator, but it's outside the room, across part of the park. Drinks are available to buy, but when I asked how much they cost, nobody knew. They told me to take them and pay at checkout, so I didn't use any without knowing the price first. There's no grocery store within walking distance, so bring supplies or go into Lobos if you want things for the pool. We couldn't use the facilities until Sunday because of our Saturday event, and the weather wasn't good enough for the pool, so we stayed in and tried to watch a movie. Wi-Fi was down all day, there was no phone signal, and the TV didn't work either, apparently because it needed the internet. We could also hear guests in the other room coming and going, even though they were quiet. The hotel is pleasant, but the price-to-quality ratio is poor.

We fell in love with the place during our weekend visit. The decor and room were lovely, everything was clean, and the service stood out most. The staff were so kind and helpful. My partner and I were delighted and already can't wait to return.
