Cabañas Bosque El Ocio

The jacuzzi was the highlight! I loved the cabins, and the forest is beautiful. Getting around is much easier by car, though we managed without one. Mariano, the very kind owner, found us and took us to our cabin.

The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, and the cabins are comfortable and very functional. They do lack some style, though, and a bit more care and a few small improvements could make them really good. To clarify my reply to the owner, one concern was dust mites in the bedding. The bedroom closet is mediocre and doesn't fit the rest of the room, and the joints between walls and ceilings are often uneven, along with similar details. I also couldn't use the hot tub because the owner had shut off the boiler to save money, expecting to get back late from the beach. That was what I meant by wanting a better attitude from the owner.

The cabin was far too small and hot, which was a real letdown. The shared jacuzzi was out of water for a day and couldn't be used. There are only two trees for shade in the complex, with a hammock directly over the chimney or sewer vent, so there were nauseating smells. We also had ants in the kitchen and under the counter. An apology from Mariano, the owner, could have resolved things, but he never showed up. I won't come back and can't recommend it.

Everything was very clean, and the owner was attentive. The fresh air and birdsong make it a lovely place to unwind, with excellent value for the money. Highly recommended.
