Gran Hotel Rivoli

Pretty average.

The location is excellent, just one block from the beach and one block from the pedestrian area. The staff were very helpful, and it was good value for the hotel's rating. I had to struggle for two days to get the gluten-free breakfast I'd booked, but they sorted it out by the third day.

The location was excellent, and the rooms were comfortable, though not all had air conditioning, which wasn't necessary. We also didn't have a safe, though I think every room should. We arrived at 11:00 AM and weren't given a room until almost 2:00 PM. A dark-haired woman named Laura left us until last and gave me a room that didn't work for us, even though we'd explained we were a family and needed three rooms close together. Other rooms were available, but she told me to get lost. When I asked for the complaints book, she gave me another room next to my family. That showed me she hadn't cared about our request in the first place. A very kind dark-haired male colleague changed our room and came up to help me. He told me not to ask for the book and to stay with the staff. They work at the hotel and are responsible for finding you a room. I'm from Mendoza, and we came a week ago because of an emergency. The rest of the staff were excellent people.

The rooms are very clean, but they're old, like the building, and could use some updating. Beds and pillows are a bit hard, though the towels are good quality. There's very little soap and shampoo, so bring your own toiletries. The staff are the best part, incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent, but there's no fruit or cold cuts, and the dining room is very clean.
