Hotel Ariston

I had a wonderful vacation and could rest comfortably when I came back to the hotel. It’s easy to walk to the coast from here, and shops and bus stops are easy to reach too. The staff were warm, attentive, and provided excellent service whenever we asked for something.

A DISASTER. Everything was filthy or broken, and there was no hot water for showering. The fan didn’t work and nearly caught fire, thank goodness there was a circuit breaker. Breakfast was awful too: stale croissants and coffee that tasted like tea. The towels were stained and dirty. Families, don’t go there, you’ll waste your money. Go to another hotel!

I booked directly through the Ariston Hotel website for today, January 16th, and they tried to send me to another hotel a block away, saying it belonged to them too. It was a disaster. They take bookings using their photos and name, then send you somewhere completely different that, not coincidentally, looks exactly like the photos. They’re scammers.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the croissants at breakfast were really good. But the coffee was anything but coffee, and breakfast overall was basic. The rooms were dirty: the bedspread was dirty, the sheets hadn’t been changed, and the towels were old and faded. The bathrooms were damp and badly laid out, so shower water got everywhere. If you’re coming with family in January, I wouldn’t recommend it. The hotel was full of young people shouting and playing loud music into the early hours, and the hallways were left covered in trash.
