Hotel Del Faro

Excellent.

I went for a week with my sister, and the service was 10/10. Location was 100/10. If you’re going to parties at Mute or Umn, this is the place. You can cross the street, leave the party, and be in bed. On a party day, going from downtown to the clubs feels much longer than just walking downtown on a regular day.

Viktor gave us such a warm welcome. I loved the place, and it’s comfortable for relaxing. Highly recommended.

The staff are welcoming and friendly, especially Andrés, who’s always ready to help. Cleaning happens often, depending on whether it’s peak or off-season. Parking is available on Av. Vélez Sarsfield. Hotel del Faro is in a quiet neighborhood in Punta Mogotes, a block and a half from the lighthouse, and close to Los Alcantilados beach, Chapadmalal, and Miramar. It’s affordable, especially compared with Mar del Plata, where central hotels tend to overcharge. The place is modest, well kept, and simple, with a welcoming feel like hotels from the 1990s. It has the basics, including TV, Wi-Fi, and a bathroom with plenty of hot water, but no refrigerator. There’s no patio or balcony, just a basic reception area near the entrance.
