Hotel Atlantico

It's not especially Americanized, but for this area I thought it was a nice place.

The view was fantastic and the location is excellent, which makes it a real shame the hotel is in such poor shape. It must have been lovely 50 years ago, but it doesn't meet 4-star standards now. The staff were generally attentive, though that alone can't make it a 4-star hotel. The room was spacious and faced the sea, but the door looked ready to break, the old windows only opened partway at the top, and the laminate floor was lifting in places. The mattress was falling apart, with springs digging into us. The bathroom may once have been beautiful, but the chipped bathtub and very old tiles and faucets need attention. The hotel badly needs maintenance. They should close it and renovate it. Breakfast was average, nothing special, with too much flour and not enough fruit.

The food was really good too. We found the room comfortable and clean, which matters most to me, and the facilities were well maintained. Staff were always friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was pleasant. It left us with a very good impression and seems like a good place for a stay of a few days.

The ocean view was lovely, and the staff were very friendly. Everything else was disappointing. We stayed for a week and they never changed the sheets. The shampoo was awful, watery and wouldn't lather. Wires were sticking out of the mattress and hurt us. The furniture was old, including the TV, air conditioner, and bed, and the upkeep was very basic.
