Cordon del Plata

The staff were helpful, and our room was large, with a jacuzzi that unfortunately didn’t work. We ended up here because another hotel under the same ownership was closed. Breakfast was good, but there was no mini-fridge, and the air conditioning was directly above the bed.

The bathroom was dirty, and the shower barely had any water pressure. Outside noise kept me from sleeping well. While I was out, the cleaning staff ate my cookies. If I’d left my camera in the room, who knows what might have happened. The receptionist didn’t apologize about the cookies either.

The hotel is old and poorly maintained, and Wi-Fi is only available in some rooms. The staff don’t greet you. I got off to a bad start when they tried to charge me in Mendoza Pesos, which were more expensive than Argebtenian pesos. They said the hotel has no rate in pesos, only in dólares. It felt like they didn’t trust their own currency. My husband was sick, and when I went to the restaurant on a Sunday night to buy him a piece of fruit, they said they didn’t sell fruit. They serve it at breakfast every day, but wouldn’t help a sick guest when everything else was closed. I’d stay on the other side of plaza de independencia (Independence square), where there are more restaurants, better food, and more activity.

The breakfast is basic but enough. The new rooms across the road are poorly equipped, and there were cockroaches in the bathroom at night.
