Fuente Mayor Hotel Terminal

The location was handy, close to the bus terminal and downtown, and breakfast was included. Rooms were clean, staff friendly, and the price reasonable. The downside is the noise, since the hotel sits between the highway and bus terminal. I stayed here a couple of times during my Aconcagua climbing trip, on the way in and on the way out.

There were cockroaches in my first room at Fuente Mayor Terminal Hotel. I reported it to reception and was told the room would be cleaned and fumigated, but when I came back that evening there were even more of them. I kept raising the problem, and nothing was done. I was moved twice, but neither replacement room met basic comfort standards. In the second room, water came through the floor from upstairs at 4 AM. No one answered when I called reception, and I only got help after going to find a staff member who wasn’t initially available. I tried to take the matter to the manager, but despite being told they were available, they never met or communicated with me. I had expected much better and was left frustrated by the lack of response and failure to fix these problems. I can’t recommend the hotel.

I thought the Argentinian take on a “continental breakfast” was pretty good. The lobby has WiFi, though it didn’t work very well in my room. Apart from that, I found it a lovely place to stay in Mendoza.

The place has a nice design and feels quite new, and the service was nice too. Breakfast was a bit lacking, though, with no fruit or eggs.
