La Mara A Hotel Boutique

The team were the best part: such friendly, lovely people who helped us book all our tours, and we were really happy with their choices. The hotel is beautifully decorated in a quiet neighborhood, about 15 minutes by car from Mendoza’s city center. The rooms are huge and comfortable, and breakfast is delicious. We loved it.

The staff were great, and the garden is really pretty. It’s a cute property with spacious rooms, a jacuzzi, and an in-room sauna. If you’re out all day, there’s plenty there for what you need, but spending more time at the hotel brought a few things to light. There aren’t shared spaces like a comfortable lounge, bar, or sun loungers, and I think a somewhat larger shared pool would be more comfortable for guests than the jacuzzi. The bathroom lighting was poor, and the sauna lost heat quickly because it wasn’t well insulated. Insulation tape might be a simple fix. Breakfast came in small portions in a rather dark room. It wasn’t a buffet, but something you order ahead. Coffee was limited to Nespresso or French press, with no cappuccino option. A small buffet, even with limited choices, would make the meal more enjoyable. The room is very high tech, but even basic things like locking and unlocking the door felt overly complicated. Housekeeping wasn’t at a very high level. In the evening they made the bed, but put clothes back where they’d found them instead of tidying the room. The bedding setup also felt odd to me: a bedsheet, an uncovered duvet, then another sheet. I found the uncovered duvet unhygienic, and touching it while I slept grossed me out. It was a cute stay, but didn’t quite feel worth the price.

My wife and I had an incredible stay at La Maria Boutique Hotel for two days and nights. The room was amazing, and the staff and service were excellent. We also got to meet the owner and founder, and really enjoyed hearing his story and what he’s building in Mendoza. We’d stay here again and again!

La Maria is a seven room boutique hotel that opened in 2024, with wonderfully spacious rooms that have saunas. We stayed for two nights in November and loved it. We’ve visited Mendoza and stayed in Chacras before, but this was our first time here. The thoughtful details show in how the hotel was built. Breakfast was wonderful, and you can have it brought to your room or eat in the dining room. We tried both, and had the dining room to ourselves. It’s a great base for visiting Mendoza’s wineries, and within walking distance of a couple of restaurants in Chacras. The main part of Chacras is a drive away. If you want a hotel where you can just hang out, this may not suit you, since there isn’t much beyond your room. We’d stay again, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book clients here.
