Palace Hotel

The food was homemade, tasty, and came in generous portions with plenty of variety. The kitchen staff, Agustín, Omar, Héctor, and the rest, were excellent, and everyone we met was kind and polite. Hotel Palace in Miramar is simple and old, but it's very clean. I was nervous after reading the reviews, and wanted to say how damaging hurtful comments can be to the people working here, the owner, and the hotel's reputation. If a comment won't help, maybe it's better not to post it. Thank you.

The rooms, bathrooms, and showers were lovely, and the half-board meals were delicious. It's also in a great spot, about a block and a half from the beach, and reception was welcoming. Wi-Fi worked perfectly in the ground-floor lobby, but it didn't reach many of the rooms. Pool area hours were quite limited too, from 9 to 19. Keeping those pool hours would be fine, but it'd be nice if the terrace stayed open so guests could have mate in the afternoon or sit outside for some fresh air.

We found the bathroom unclean when we arrived, but they took care of it. The owners could communicate more clearly: we didn't know they were making coffee, and they weren't aware of the meal choices for children. Still, it's a lovely hotel. The breakfast buffet was delicious, the half-board meals were good, and they even have board games. We'd definitely come back.

The food was good, the staff were attentive and friendly, and the hotel is ideally located just one block from the beach. The room itself, though, was a problem. We were put in 214, supposedly a triple, but it was far too small. The wardrobe was outside the room, making it hard to get around or even open the window. The tiny bathroom had a leaking shower that flooded the floor, and the toilet flush button didn't work properly. The mattress and pillows were old, and the single bed was just the lower part of a side box spring. Since the room sits right over the kitchen door, opening the window meant getting hit by the smell. There was a small fridge, but its outlet was above the bed, which felt unsafe. The hotel's decor could use an update too.
