Golden Lodge

The fishing was incredible, and I can't wait to come back. We spent the middle of the day after other species and used the early mornings and late evenings to look for big golden dorados. Over our 6 fishing days, our guide Vicente tailored each outing to what we wanted. You can target pacu in the side channels or sight fish for giant dorados on the sand flats. The fishery has it all. Golden Fly Fishing made the whole experience so easy. I flew from Calgary to Bueno Aries, then they arranged domestic flights and taxi or van travel to Paso de la Patria. Everything went smoothly. I booked all my travel through my local fly shop, Out Fly Fishing Fly Shop in Calgary, Alberta. We stayed in comfortable, clean double occupancy rooms, each with its own bathroom suite, just as advertised. The air conditioning was a big bonus. The two private chefs onsite provided every meal. Breakfast had fruit, pastries, bread, eggs, juice, and coffee. Lunch and dinner were three courses, with different, delicious meals focused on traditional Argentinian food and dessert. The great quality Argentinian wine paired perfectly. The people in Argentina are so warm, welcoming, and kind. Everyone at Golden Fly Fishing was amazing, and I'll never forget Vittorio, Vicente, Maya, Lucas, and Alejandro. The guides, culture, food, accommodations, fishing, and people were all so perfect that I couldn't have asked for anything better. I HIGHLY recommend booking this once in a lifetime fly fishing trip for the incredibly impressive Golden Dorado.

These hosts think of everything from the moment you arrive until you leave, and they deliver more than you could want. They make sure you're comfortable and put you in a good position to catch as many fish as your rod can lift. Fantastic guides and hosts. I'd give the place 10 out of 10.

The lodge felt like a home away from home, and the food and service were out of this world. What a great trip. The guides were first class and knew the river so well. We'll be back.

The house sits in the heart of "El Paso," and its historic character made our stay feel special. With its period furniture and decor, it feels like stepping back in time to an authentic, welcoming ranch house. At the same time, it exceeded our expectations for comfort. Everything was there in the kitchen, grill area, and bedrooms, so we didn't need to worry about a thing. The grounds are incredibly quiet and green, just right for getting away from the noise. We spent some amazing days here, and the peace was priceless. A perfect mix of modern comforts and old-world charm. We'd return without hesitation.
