It’s a peaceful spot with spectacular lake views, set between Perito Moreno and Los Antiguos along a stretch of perfect asphalt, with a short gravel drive to the cabins. We enjoyed the stay and would’ve stayed longer if we’d had enough cash, since they don’t accept cards. The cabins are a good size, but Patagonian winds make the heating necessary. There’s nowhere to put clothes beyond a few wall hooks, so you’re living out of suitcases on a longer visit. The staff are lovely, though Google Translate helps if your Spanish isn’t up to it. You can eat by the log fire there, which is handy unless you fancy driving 30 km. We thought it was a little overpriced, probably because there are only a handful of cabins.

Dinner was the highlight for us, especially the homemade lamb. Meals are served family-style at separate wooden tables in an intimate room, so you get to meet the other guests. The hosts were lovely, the bedding comfortable, and the lake views amazing. Breakfast was Melba toast with homemade jam, tea or coffee, plus a lemon drink that tasted a bit like Kool-Aid, though I’m not sure what it was. You can walk to the beach in about 45 minutes or drive there in 5-10. The bathrooms had good amenities. One thing to be ready for: the power goes off at dusk and stays off until dawn. It’s a nice way to unplug. I’d give this place 4.5 out of 5.

The welcome was warm and friendly, and the beds were warm too, though dusty. But the food wasn’t good and breakfast was poor, and both the electricity and water were off the night we stayed. The wooden rooms feel more like camping, and you can see outside without needing the windows. It might suit someone after that kind of experience, but the prices are steep for the quality of the accommodation. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The atmosphere was cozy, and the food was delicious. We had a very nice stay!

There are plenty of insects around at night, so keep that in mind. The room itself is very basic, and the Wi-Fi barely works when the weather turns bad, even if it’s just windy. Still, the host looked after us well, and we had a delicious dinner there. Breakfast was simple but good. We also enjoyed a lovely, fresh-air walk to the beach with our dog, "Serena."
