El Carmelo Mountain Lodge

The scenery was breathtaking, and the food was delicious and surprisingly affordable. Service was incredibly attentive, too. We also had fun spending time with their sweet outdoor cat, Antonio. Absolutely recommend staying here, 10/10!

We loved spending our two days at El Carmelo Mountain Lodge without leaving the property. We relaxed in the poolside cabanas, sunbathed on the meditation deck, and took a walk along the horse trail behind the lodge. The views were unbelievable, and meals in our room overlooking the Andes felt wonderfully romantic. Sibille, the manager, was exceptionally attentive and kind throughout. The accommodations, food, and service were all outstanding, and the menu was fresh and varied. Of all our time touring Chile and Argentina, this was easily our favorite and most restorative stop. We only wish we’d stayed longer.

We slept so well in the oversized soft bed, and having meals on our private terrace was lovely. The staff were discreet, kind, and attentive, and made us feel genuinely appreciated. We’ve already told friends who are heading to the region about the lodge, and hope to return ourselves. After a few days in the wine region and exploring nearby Aconcauga, we needed a break from our busy trip. From the garden behind the front gate to the changing mountain views, El Carmelo gave us a stay we won’t forget. We even got up early for a peaceful sunrise. The hosts surprised us with an incredible tango show, soulful live music against a perfect sunset, followed by a wonderful asado with the other guests. That was a highlight of our time in Mendoza. It was the luxurious, restorative escape we were looking for, in a truly once-in-a-lifetime setting. A real 10/10.

There are just four suites, and the view from the rooms is unbelievable. The area is peaceful, the food is great, and the owners are friendly, fun people to talk with. Absolutely incredible stay. I’d go back in a heartbeat and recommend it 100/10.
