Gran Hotel Potrerillos

We rented bikes easily and went out for a ride with great views of the lake. After that, we played pool, then got up early for the buffet breakfast. We only stayed one night and hope to come back soon. The pool was refreshing and didn’t seem overloaded with chemicals. The grounds were well kept, with green grass and trees, and the room was comfortable, nicely presented, and well air conditioned. The unit didn’t keep me awake. After some time in the sun, we planned an early dinner, but found the restaurant overlooking the potrerillos was only open for lunch, which was a shame. Dining with that view would be special. We started with a freshly made salami pizza from the proper clay oven, a great appetizer when done right, and a glass of rosé from the winery. The rosé was young, so if you go this year, I’d suggest something older than 2025. After a good conversation, I picked a bottle of Bonarda. I love the elegance of pino noir and the boldness of Cabernet, and I’ve become a fan of this grape. It had a bold burst of flavor with a delicate, delicious oak aroma. I can’t recommend it enough. For the main course I had chicken and rice to stick to my gym routine. The chef added all the fancy bits, and by then I was just happy to be there. We took the wine outside afterward and had flan and a chocolate treat for dessert. The price was reasonable for the location. I was staying as the guest of someone who received the stay as a gift, so I can’t comment on the price complaints I’ve seen in other reviews.
