Hospedaje Leñas del Tolosa

This is a unique place by the roadside, and it’s the closest accommodation to Aconcagua, which was our main reason for choosing it. We had to take a bus here and would otherwise have needed to walk from the hostel. There’s an old railway collection and a retro shared kitchen. The bathroom was clean, the bed comfortable, and there was a heater and hot shower. The price was AR$20,000 a night with breakfast. I can manage 20k, but not when the sheets haven’t been changed and you get just one towel. The food was below mediocre. For AR$2800 each, we got really overcooked, dry meat supposedly in a sauce, with stale bread. That same stale bread came back at breakfast with cream cheese, and that was all. I had to ask for fried eggs. First the guy said tomorrow, then changed his mind and brought three for two people in a bowl with a spoon. The second morning was worse: more old bread and one overcooked egg each. Bring your own food if you come here. If you’re driving, though, you won’t need to.
