We ended up at Hotel Boutique Genova after our original host became unwell, and were pleasantly surprised. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but inside it's beautiful and secure. You need three key cards to get to your room: one for the premises, one for the building, and one for the room. The view toward the friendship bridge was great. A Rufous Horneo nested in the window and visited each morning, and I also spotted a pair of White Woodpeckers from the room, which made my day. Sitting by the pool and watching birds go by was lovely. When the town lost power for a few hours one night, the hotel's generator brought the power back quickly. Breakfast was free and good, starting at 7:30am. I handed over my laundry while I went to explore the falls, and they arranged to have it washed. I hadn't realized they could also make dinners until we arrived, since I don't think it was on their site. Wi-Fi was fast and free. The location is south of the main street and only average, but it's a small town, so it's just a few extra minutes by taxi or an easy walk. One of our group left a jacket in the wardrobe and only noticed on the plane. We messaged the hotel, and they said they'd send it back. I hope more people visit. I'd certainly come back.

The breakfast gave me a bit of hope, especially thanks to Luzia, who worked hard and was sweating to keep the hotel going amid all the disorganization and lack of maintenance. The cleaning was basic, no more than the usual. We arrived at night tired from the trip, and the room was a shock: the bins were full of used pads and diapers, and the bathroom floor was wet with some mysterious liquid that was supposedly from cleaning. The shower was clogged and sprayed mostly onto the surrounding walls. The pool was dirty even though it had been cleaned, and I was amazed anyone dared to get in.

We booked through Despegar, and the price was very reasonable. The hotel is about ten minutes from the center, a distance that felt worth it. It's new and well kept, and the rooms are large and comfortable with a small fridge. The place felt quiet and safe. A convenience store around the corner had everything we needed, and there was a delicious pizzeria three blocks away. PedidosYa deliveries arrived just fine. The pool was excellent, and we could use all the facilities without any trouble. Breakfast was included, simple but delicious, and there's also a bar. The staff were very helpful throughout our stay. We'd definitely return.

The hotel is a little way from the center, but it had a nice garden, a good pool where our daughters had lots of fun, and even an elevator despite being a small place. It gave us more than we expected, and parking was easy. Breakfast was simple but perfectly fine. One suggestion: clean the rooms in the afternoon, as is customary in Brazil. I don't know whether Argentinians have a different custom. We didn't get fresh towels, and toilet paper ran out several times, though when we asked the staff, they brought more without any problem. We'd come back.

After a day exploring the city, the excellent pool was a great place to relax. The rooms were spacious, with very comfortable beds and lovely armchairs. Breakfast was excellent too, and the bar served delicious drinks with first-class service. A beautiful hotel in Puerto Iguazú, and an experience I'd happily repeat.
