Raices Esturion Hotel

The rooms were the weak point. Dust had built up thickly on the base of the freestanding lamp, even though the visible shade seemed to be cleaned. The bathroom fan didn’t work, if there was one at all. Steam and toilet smells just lingered. Several switches did nothing, and the exterior sliding door was broken or badly built, so it wouldn’t latch and lock properly. The walls are paper thin. Even in the off season I could hear the neighboring rooms as if they were in mine. Breakfast looked beautiful but tasted disappointing. The grounds are lovely, and the lobby and reception area were clean and well maintained. Still, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The location and hotel service were great, and the hotel has beautiful views. I stayed two nights with my group. Sadly, my bedsheets were still wet when I arrived, and my friends’ room smelled of cigarette smoke.

The rooms were comfortable and it’s a nice place. My one gripe was that eating in the dining room requires a reservation made well ahead of time, which cost it a star for me. There are some really nice restaurants nearby, so it’s not a big issue unless the weather is bad.

The hotel is somewhat isolated, though small restaurants are about a 10-minute walk away and a medium-sized supermarket for essentials is 15 minutes away. Our room was a good size and clean. We didn’t use any of the available services. The hotel restaurant serves all three meals and coffee.
