We really enjoyed the rustic charm and peaceful feel at Overo, along with the fabulous pools and professional, helpful staff. There are just eight individual triangular cottages, set in beautiful grounds in the jungle, with a private jungle walk and plenty of birds and other wildlife. The place has a fascinating history, and there’s a full restaurant and bar for the small number of guests. The cottages are sweet, functional, and rustic rather than luxurious, and the bathroom was very rustic too. Anyone expecting four or five star luxury might be disappointed, apart from the wonderful pools. The resort sits just off the main road to the airport and the Falls, so there’s some road noise, but taxis and buses are easy to get. The wildlife sanctuary next door offers guided tours in English every day at 10 am. Puerto Iguazu itself isn’t anything special, and visitors are clearly here for the spectacular falls. I’d definitely recommend Overo for its tranquility, rustic character, great staff, and pools.

Staying in the forest was so relaxing, just pure tranquility. OVERO has a family story behind it, and the care for guests from every staff member felt real. We joined the Bon fire and learned about rural life in Argentina, and had the best mate tea in Iguazu. Breakfast had lots of options and was delicious. Thanks for the hospitality!

It’s a bit out of the way, but the staff recommended a driver to take us to the falls and back. We ended up using him for all our trips, and his rates were very reasonable. We loved our stay. The staff and service were great, and Carlo took good care of us at the restaurant. The food was very good, including the extras they bring during dinner. We came at the end of August, when it was a little chilly, though it warmed up toward the end of our stay. They have a spa, which we unfortunately didn’t have time to try, and activities like hiking and basket weaving.

For our honeymoon, the team surprised us with a bottle of champagne, cake, and congratulations in our room. Such a thoughtful welcome. OVERO Lodge is a little magic space in Iguazú, and the lodge and hut are cozy and lovely, almost like being in the heart of the jungle. The nearby road is a little loud. Apart from that, the service, restaurant, surroundings, and huts were all great.

I’m worried our fully paid six-night reservation for April may be a scam, since I haven’t been able to get a useful reply confirming that it’s active and in good standing. This is very unsettling for two seniors who don’t need this stress. The location gets five stars, but so far the communication after booking and payment gets zero. We’ve had the same problems other reviewers described, including someone six months ago, so clearly the issue hasn’t been resolved. I first emailed on Dec 5, then again on Dec 9, Dec 11, and Dec 14. I also tried WhatsApp, with no replies, and then Instagram a couple of days ago. This morning I got a WhatsApp message on my cell that looked computer generated, so at least it was a response, maybe. I wrote back and several hours later still hadn’t heard anything. I hope an actual person contacts me.
