Rainforest Hotel & Cabañas

The grounds are lovely, and there’s a lot of nature around. I stayed in the hotel, so I can’t say anything about the cabins. Breakfast didn’t have much variety, though one young woman there was especially friendly. I also appreciated how clean everything was, with plenty of towels, and I often saw staff cleaning early in the morning. The cleaning team always greeted us, and Giannela was wonderful from our tired arrival after a long trip through checkout. Joaquín was kind and friendly too. I’d been recommended the place by a friend, and whenever I messaged, they replied. One thing I didn’t like was being asked to leave a credit card or dollars as a damage deposit. Otherwise, everything was excellent. I hope they keep this beautiful place in good shape.

My cabin was really comfortable, and the place itself is lovely. The cabins are a block from the hotel and have their own pool, but it was badly neglected. Breakfast was mediocre, and the TV in the cabin looked ancient and needs updating. If you don’t have a car, the center is quite far away. The hotel’s taxi service is worth using.

The cabin was reasonably clean, but the sheets and towels had old stains, and the facilities need a lot of attention. It’s a shame, since the place is nice, though it didn’t seem like anyone cared for it. The Wi-Fi in the cabins doesn’t work, and cooking there is only practical if you grill, since the stovetop barely boils water. There is a restaurant on site, but after seeing the condition of the facilities I didn’t feel like eating there. Breakfast has very few choices, and they charge a reservation deposit on top of the stay without explaining it anywhere, though it’s refunded later. I gave it three stars because there are pools at both the hotel and cabins. There’s also a children’s pool, but it’s filthy.

The person at reception was friendly and professional, which was a relief. We stayed one night only because we had no other option. The bungalow was run down and damp smelling, and there was blood on one of the sheets. We could hear the person in the neighboring bungalow snoring because the soundproofing was so poor. When the rain started, the noise on what was probably a corrugated metal roof was unbearable and woke us up. The bedding was poor quality too. Avoid it unless you really have no choice.
