Hotel Saint George

The lobby is modern and polished, but the junior suite we were given was a different story. It was spacious and had a balcony, and it must have been a very nice room once, but now it’s in such disrepair that it feels unacceptable for a four star hotel. It badly needs renovation. This hotel is made up of several towers. We asked to move to a cleaner room and were told all twelve junior suites were in the same condition. They showed us a room in a newer tower that had been renovated, but it was much smaller and didn’t work for us. The location is great, and the staff are friendly and keen to help. Just be aware that the junior suite rooms are dated and dowdy.

The location is excellent, close to the city center, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Rooms were clean, roomy, and comfortable, and the WiFi worked well. There’s a pool, gym, spa, and jewellery store. Breakfast had a wide selection, though there weren’t many options for vegetarians.

We landed early and reached the hotel at 8:30 AM. They kindly let us have breakfast and wait in the lobby while we passed the time. It’s a very welcoming place, and the location is great for seeing Iguazu Falls on both the Argentine and Brazilian sides. The terminal is only a three-minute walk away, and the city center takes about ten minutes on foot.

Alien at the front desk made our Iguazu trip wonderful. She was professional and friendly, and went far beyond what I’d expect from customer service. She was the best receptionist we came across during our many hotel stays around the world. We’ll definitely stay at St George again. Thanks!
