Tierra Guarani Lodge de Selva

Breakfast is served, and in the evening you can order food and eat it in the dining room. After exploring the falls, Tierra Guaraní Lodge is a peaceful place to come back to, with lovely local hospitality and the beauty of the selva all around. The cabins are tucked into the jungle, reached by boardwalks, and feel private from the other guests. They were quiet, clean and comfortable. The setting was the most beautiful I've stayed in. By the pool, you can relax among tropical greenery and spot local wildlife, including beautiful lizards. The staff are kind and welcoming. After we'd checked out, they found my son's beloved toy penguin and launched a rescue mission. One wonderful staff member kept me updated the whole time, which made an already great stay even better.

We had a good time at the lodge, and I wish we'd had a chance to use the pool. The units themselves were great, and the staff made scrambled eggs for my husband and me pretty quickly when I asked. Still, breakfast was disappointing. I'd hoped for more filling carbs and protein for adults, rather than just pastries, and other guests seemed to feel the same. Staff weren't around to replenish things. The peace comes from being deep in the rainforest, with a hammock and jungle right off the balcony. Nothing is within walking distance, though, so be ready to spend a lot on taxis. Uber works in Puerto Iguazu, but getting a cab can be difficult even in low season. Once I waited 16 minutes, and another time, after four requests were cancelled, I had to ask the hotel staff to call one for the airport. The breakfast and service could be better.

Sleeping in the tree house was such a magical experience. I travel a lot, and this is one of the best places I've stayed. Highly recommend it.

The staff were really friendly and breakfast was OK. The bungalows are each surrounded by greenery, in a great spot right in the jungle. It's a shame the place doesn't get proper maintenance. The wood is going rotten and the shower sprays water in a funny way. Somewhere this beautiful deserves more attention.
