There’s nowhere else to eat here, so the restaurant’s high prices can make the stay costly. A bottle of water was $5, which felt excessive since guests are advised not to drink the tap water. The hotel itself was generally fine.

The staff were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the restaurant food was delicious. We had a clean room and lovely views at this beautiful hotel.

Breakfast, on the other hand, was excellent. The bathroom shower floor stayed dirty throughout my two-night stay, despite my complaints. There were long black hairs on it, while my own hair is blonde. I raised the issue again at reception because two days with a dirty shower is unacceptable for a hotel of this standing. A staff member said the manager wanted to meet me at 9:30 the next morning. I waited over half an hour, but the receptionist said the manager still hadn’t arrived. I never got an apology for the poor cleaning.

The hotel was a good place to stay, and the room had the view we’d requested. Reception kindly let us check in early and have an extra breakfast for an additional charge. The driver available through the hotel also helped us get around the area at a good price, which made things much easier. The extra items we bought were overpriced, though. For example, we asked for espresso but were given the same coffee served at breakfast, and beers were expensive too.

It’s a friendly place with a good restaurant and pool, and breakfast was good too. The hotel is set a little way from the city centre, almost in the jungle, but taxis are available.
