Complejo Los Troncos

The room floor was wet, and the whole place looked like it had been left without maintenance. We waited more than 20 minutes when we arrived, then another half hour outside in the freezing cold after the owner showed up. Everything from the entrance onward was filthy and looked abandoned. The man who answered the phone number posted at the entrance was incredibly friendly, but the woman was rude and had no customer service skills at all. We left. The price seemed reasonable, but with that level of filth it felt expensive.

The price is affordable, but the lack of investment and all the shortcomings make it feel like poor value. We stayed in a studio, and you could hear everything from the neighbor, even his snoring. There are no services in the apartment, and I didn’t see anyone clean the common area during our week there. At night, there’s no light by the front door, so you need your phone flashlight to find the keyhole. The windows don’t open, so airing the place out means leaving the door open. There are no blackout curtains either, and the sun hits you as soon as it comes up. We covered the glass door with a blanket. The owners never even asked how we were doing.

We ended up leaving a day early because the cabin was unbearable. The bathroom drain was clogged, so every shower flooded the whole bathroom, and water even reached the dining area. When I raised it, they said that couldn’t be happening, while I spent the whole stay bailing water out. There was no grill, and the smell was awful. The manager or owner wasn’t helpful and didn’t seem to know what they were doing. It’s cheap, but all the problems made it feel expensive.

The rooms have a really nice wooden design, and the service is excellent. For a more than affordable price, we got a spacious room with everything in good condition, a great shower, heating and air conditioning. There’s also a shared back room where you can relax and cook something.
