The rooms are spacious, with balconies, and there's a cosy shared area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location is great. The bathrooms could be improved: they're a little old, though that seems pretty common in Argentina.

Colmena is a beautiful hostel in a lovely, grand old building. The service and location were good, and I couldn't find fault with it.

The entrance is surprisingly plain for a hostel, apart from the heavy antique cast-iron front door. Inside, there's a 140-year-old lift, pine walls with detailed woodwork, patterned marble floors, 14-foot ceilings, and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff are courteous too. There's a theater bar nearby.

I couldn't sleep properly during the two days I stayed. Rosario stays warm even at night, and the air conditioning was bad: it was set to 24°, but didn't work. They didn't seem to care when I asked them to fix it. There were no rules about people talking, playing, eating or smoking, even late at night. The cleaning and the house itself were bad too. This was the worst place I've ever stayed, and a terrible experience.

The rooms are large and quiet, and most have balconies. Wi-Fi is included. You're downtown, right by Cordoba pedestrian street, and six blocks from the national flag monument and the Paraná river corniche.
