The common spaces and Wi-Fi were great, and the hostel was clean and comfortable. The staff were warm and helpful, too. It’s an easy walk to Pichincha neigborhood and Blv Oroño for nightlife. They don’t accept credit cards, but it’s still the best option in the city.
There’s no front desk open around the clock 😔
The old house has a lovely feel, with lots of decorative touches. The experience depends a lot on who’s working: the woman who helped us Monday morning made it feel cozy, while the Brazilian on Sunday left it feeling cold and neglected. For what it costs, the service falls short. The mattress had springs sticking out dangerously, and the private bathroom was outside the room.
The kitchen has the utensils you need, and you can grill or use the bread machine. Breakfast is included, and the whole hostel, including the bathrooms, was clean. Nahuel was especially helpful. There are rooms with private bathrooms, plus a TV and air conditioning in each room. The patios, terrace, lounge, and reception TV with Netflix make for nice common areas. It’s centrally located with parking nearby. You may find a cheaper option, but the comfort for the price is hard to beat.
Breakfast came with our stay, and we could use the shared fridge and kitchen to make food. The price was good, and I always found the place clean and in good condition.
