High Hostel

Our host spoke English really well, and the welcome was so warm when we arrived. The room stayed cozy in the middle of winter, and the bed and soft pillows made for a comfortable night. It was quiet despite being right in the city, and everything was clean and tidy. We loved staying here and plan to come back. I'd definitely recommend it.

The main drawback for me was that there wasn't a comfortable spot to lounge, which is why I gave it three stars. Otherwise, it worked well for a couple of days: the staff were kind and helpful, the internet was good for working, and the kitchen had what I needed. The bed was comfortable and there was hot water.

WARNING, BEDBUGS (25 March 2019). I booked three nights but had to leave after the first when I found bedbugs. A staff member said they had known about an infestation since the week before. Since I'd already paid on arrival, they told me I couldn't get a refund. I emailed the next day to explain that I'd paid by credit card, so refunding me should be easy, especially since I also had to pay to clean my belongings and find another hostel. I never got a reply. In every other respect, the hostel is fine and the staff are nice. Knowing some Spanish helps.

The terrace was perfect, and the rooms were spacious and clean. Barbie and Francisco were incredibly kind and helpful. High hostel was fantastic, thanks for everything!
