The garden is spacious, and we loved the pool. This small B&B was a lovely place to unwind, with delicious breakfasts and kind, personable hosts. Thank you, Alex and Rikje, for making us feel so welcome.

Alex and Rijkje are what make Casa Hernandez B&B such a special stay. They’ve lived in Salta for a long time after coming from the Netherlands, and bring genuine local warmth, experience from around the world, and heartfelt hospitality in several languages. They really live the “mi casa es su casa” welcome. Guests have their own refrigerator and can wander freely around the property, and you’ll often find Alex or Rijkje chatting with guests. They seem to truly enjoy what they do. The B&B is in the heart of Villa San Lorenzo, half a block from the charming town center. The property is gorgeous, with tasteful, upscale folkloric style that fits the local Salta feel. Rooms are well equipped and look out over spacious, perfectly kept gardens full of bougainvillea, lavender, rosemary, and other plants that thrive in San Lorenzo’s climate. There’s no TV, and the Wi-Fi is strong and fast if you need a screen. I fell asleep to crickets outside, on the most comfortable pillows in the world, and woke to lovely birdsong. The bedroom window gives you a preview of the grounds, so make time for a walk and a swim in the pool. Breakfast is the cherry on top, plentiful and amazing: peach and orange juice, yogurt, cold cuts, homemade multigrain bread that’s to die for, and lots of jams and jellies. One day there were scrambled eggs too! I have relatives in San Lorenzo, and Casa Hernandez will change my routine whenever I travel there. It’s no coincidence that they’ve all visited or stayed here and recommended it to me.
