Hotel Casablanca

After a long day of travel, I didn't have the energy to look for somewhere else, so I stayed even though the points I booked with supposedly “didn't work.” I was told I'd have to pay myself. The listing showed about $30 a night, but at checkout they charged me $50 and said they only accepted cash. For the quality, the rooms felt overpriced, and they weren't especially comfortable. A nice Airbnb costs less. I'd pick another hotel.

The rooms were comfortable enough for a good night's sleep, and the service was excellent. The location is handy too, with easy access to the city center.

The staff were kind and friendly, but getting a decent shower turned into a whole ordeal. We were moved four times. In room 14, the water worked on the first day, then on day two both the shower and sink ran only hot. Room 15 had the same issue. In the next room, I asked to check the taps and found cold water from both. Finally, in room 41 the temperature could be adjusted, but the drain didn't work. After visiting such beautiful places, having a proper bathroom matters. Such a shame.

My stay was a disaster. The photos don't show the real condition of the place: the rooms were dirty, and the pictured patio was neglected and filthy. Staff tried to help, but the owners were unpleasant and didn't maintain the facilities. Room 6 had damp, a bathroom leak spreading into the bedroom, a curtain that fell when I opened it, and no window lock despite being on the ground floor. They moved me to room 1, also downstairs, where it smelled damp and the bathroom leaked again. I had to turn the toilet tank water off and on every time I used it, then lock it again. Hot water either didn't work or wasn't enough, so I showered cold. Nothing seems to get properly fixed, just patched temporarily. I hope they improve both the facilities and service.
