Hotel Del Antiguo Convento

The location turned out to be perfect, with an easy, pleasant walk to the city square. There's a lovely neighborhood bar restaurant around the corner, El Cafe del Convento, car rental next door, and the best Empanades also around the corner at La Salteneria. At first, we weren't impressed. The staff weren't very friendly, and our nice room had no view, just walls. It was on the first floor with no elevator. The breakfast man was grumpy, and you had to be friendly to him to get your choices, which were limited to things like no eggs and one slice of cheese. The terrace was lovely but closed for breakfast, so we ate inside where it was full and warm. Breakfast in Argentina isn't usually very exciting anyway.

A characterful, interesting place with very helpful staff and a wonderful breakfast if you're into pastries. The price is keen, and you can walk to the center from this terrific location.

The place itself is excellent, but the breakfast was terrible. The breakfast guy acts like he's doing you a favor.

I especially want to thank the masseuse Marguerita. She was excellent and cured the crippling pain I had in my leg, and her service was very affordable. The desk staff were cheerful and helpful, though breakfast was sparse and the service there grumpy. It's a lovely old place in a great location, but doesn't have many modern amenities.
