Lead Pods Hostel

The dirtiness overwhelmed everything else here. During our two-night stay, we saw no sign of recent cleaning or anyone cleaning. We told the staff member we saw that the bathroom bin was overflowing, and they said it would be emptied and the bathroom cleaned later that day. That never happened. The bathroom was grimy, with used toilet paper around the toilet because the small bin had overflowed. The room was dirty too, and I found an empty tampon wrapper under my mattress while checking I hadn’t left anything behind. There were other problems, though they felt minor next to the grime and the price. The rooms only have windows onto an interior corridor, so they’re stuffy. Pod curtains are thin enough to see through when the pod light is on, meaning people in the room can see you change. The curtain rails keep coming loose, and the common areas aren’t arranged in a way that makes them easy to sit and enjoy. It seems this may once have been a nice, basic, inexpensive hostel, but it’s been neglected. It was the worst place we stayed during three months of travel, and not even the cheapest. The staff member we met was friendly and accommodating. If the place were clean, or even if the bathroom weren’t so disgusting that I dreaded using it, I’d rate it higher.

The pods give you a private little space within the room without taking away much space, and each has charging points, a large locker, and a fan. The rooms are great, there are plenty of toilets and showers, and the kitchen is nice. The team made me feel at home and part of the family, and I had the best hostel stay I’ve had. It’s close to the center, shops, restaurants, bars, parks, laundrettes, and just about everything else you need. The team can help with tours, car hire, and advice, and the weekly Asado was great fun. Thanks to everyone for making it such a special stay.

We were there for three weeks and really enjoyed the evenings and afternoons spent with the workers and other guests. The host was gracious, and we loved getting to know him. The pods are spacious and have fans, and it’s great value for the price. The location is excellent, in the city center, about five minutes from plaza 9 de Julio and beside the pedestrian zone. There’s no outdoor space, so we went to the municipal swimming pool to make up for that. It has lounge chairs. Thanks so much, we hope to come back!

The rooms are lovely, with a bathroom inside. Breakfast is simple but enough: coffee, hot water, bread spread, and fruit. The kitchen is small. If everyone stays quiet and respectful, you’ll sleep well.
