Breakfast was included with my stay at Hostel Marilian, and I needed to eat here before a 6.30 am tour. They wouldn’t let me have breakfast at 6 am because I’d forgotten a piece of paper. I couldn’t go back to the hostel to look for it, and everything else was closed, so I had nowhere to get breakfast. The woman didn’t even ask my name to see whether I was staying there, and having my hostel key with me made no difference. Worst service ever!

The concierges were kind and really helpful, and breakfast was generous with very good coffee. The rooms upstairs were excellent. I didn’t like the ground-floor rooms.

Beds and pillows were so comfortable, and the hotel was quiet. In downtown Salta, it’s cheap but felt like five-star service for a three-star price. Marilian Hotel made a great home base for making my time in Salta unforgettable.
