The staff were nice, but they weren’t competent. They made a mistake with m reservation, then told me to talk to the owner. He was rude, never apologized for the hotel’s error, and made no effort to help or fix it. I was very happy to leave. There’s no sound protection between rooms, so another guest opening their door literally sounds like your own door. The rooms also have no ceiling fans or window screens, and I got bitten by mosquitoes all night. With the current dengue outbreak, that’s unacceptable. Breakfast was the worst I’ve had in Argentina: two cold biscuits, a pat of butter, a tab of jelly, and a small instant coffee with milk.

The location was convenient, and 82$ for 4 nights. Still, I lost money after having trouble communicating with the owner on 3 separate occasions. Paying by credit card also adds 15%. The bathroom and shower are together and shared by the 4 rooms on each floor. Avoid the street-facing room, which was noisy most of the night, and ask for an interior room.

We only stayed one night, but the hotel was cosy and the service was great. The staff were always around to help. It’s really close to the city center, yet very calm.

It’s an inexpensive hotel, not especially chic, but a good base for exploring Salta on a budget. The location is good, and the staff are nice and helpful. There’s a tour desk in the main hall with several trips around Salta and the region. Tour prices are good, cheaper than in Jujuy, for example.
