Hotel Brisas Marinas

We booked an economy room and found it excellent value. The receptionists were consistently kind. When we were leaving in the morning, they offered us a shower and asked if we wanted to leave our bags while we went to the beach. Breakfast was generous and tasty. The hotel is close to both the sea and the town center, and I recommend it.

The common areas are lovely and well cared for, and the staff were always ready to help. When there was a mix-up with our room on arrival, the owners sorted it out right away and put the guest experience first. We’ll come back next year, and the family left happy. Thanks for everything. Breakfast was very good, with homemade cakes, and the sheets, pillows, and towels were spotless. The rooms are small but comfortable, with large beds and mattresses still in good shape. The staff friendliness was 10/10. There are some things to fix: our bathroom had a small leak that kept the floor wet, and there was a loose outlet in the room, with other outlets needing replacement. Overall cleaning could also be better, especially under the beds and around the refrigerators and kettles. It matters to lie down without a bad smell on your pillow.

The location and the mini-fridge are about all that justify the price for me. The hotel isn’t bad, but there are other places with more modern facilities, and after two years of staying here, I don’t think we’ll return. The mattress felt worn out, with an indentation from the previous guest, and the pillow was even worse. The TV picture was so bad I thought it had switched itself off while I was watching on Saturday, and the remote was worn out too. The refrigerator, on the other hand, redeemed itself and worked overtime. The shower had given us trouble last year and was tiny. We expected something different in the most expensive room, but it was no better than the other one. On the first night the showerhead was broken and sprayed water everywhere, so we had to mop the whole bathroom. They fixed it on day two. When we booked, they kept offering us the most expensive room, but on arrival we saw a family being offered cheaper ones. Our room was tiny, and the only difference was a street-facing balcony, definitely no sea view. Breakfast was pretty basic, and we practically had to ask the waitress for jam and butter. The owner comes over to chat while you eat. I prefer a quiet breakfast, staring into space. I think there are only 5 parking spaces. I left the car in the driveway when we arrived because there were no spots. The receptionist said one would be available tomorrow, so I paid for two days, but the truck stayed in the driveway until we left. This is meant as constructive criticism, not just a complaint.

The reception team were attentive, and there’s a foot shower and wash station by the entrance for getting rid of sand. The indoor heated pool fits only up to 4 people, and the gym was locked. The covered garage was a disaster, full of stuff and very inconvenient. Next door, the owners also run a rotisserie, and you can eat in the patio. Breakfast was excellent and very complete, with juice, smoothies, yogurt, coffee, milk, lots of bread and homemade pastries, fruit salad, gelatin, cheeses, whole fruit, toast, ham, and cheese. The room and bathroom, though, were too small. There was no drain, so showering without flooding the floor was impossible. We had a quadruple room with a toaster, kettle, and small refrigerator. The entrance door’s wood was worn, making it hard to turn the key. The children’s bunk bed was in bad shape and wobbly, and the mattresses and pillows were extremely worn and uncomfortable.
