Hotel Savoia

We had great experiences.

We spent New Year’s there and had a great time. The reception and dining staff were very friendly. It’s a modest hotel, probably two stars in my view, though I understand the pools are why it’s rated three. Nothing is luxurious or modern, but things work: the bed is comfortable and the shower is fine. It was 30 degrees Celsius while we were there, unusual for the coast, so it got a bit hot, though air conditioning usually isn’t needed.

We keep wanting to return because it’s comfortable, well located, and we sleep well there. There are common areas around the hotel where you can relax if you’re skipping the beach or sightseeing for a day. The staff are friendly, available 24/7, and provide great service at any hour. The rooms we’ve stayed in have been very good, with good mattresses that let you rest after a long day. In other area hotels the mattresses were incredibly thin, and I’ve also had awful bathrooms elsewhere. Here, the bathrooms have been clean and usable for showering, which is all I ask. Breakfast is included and varied: fruit, yogurt, juice, tea, coffee, milk, ham and cheese, croissants, toast, jam, dulce de leche, butter, pudding, pastafrola, cereal, and more I can’t remember. The dining room is spacious, so you’re not cramped. There’s also a game room and gym, an outdoor patio and a covered patio, and parking, though I never used it. The two heated pools are clean and open 24 hours a day. Pool towels are available whenever you want them. I’ve stayed here several times and also tried several other hotels nearby.

The hotel has two sections, and tour companies get sent to the older one. It was filthy and awful. Our room was right by the garage, and the mattress was bigger than the bed. We asked to move, but they refused, saying that’s the room they give to tour companies. Be careful about the packages you buy. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.
