Hotel Solmar

We came for two nights and couldn’t even get through the first one without regretting it. I really don’t get the glowing reviews. The one real plus is how close it is to the beach. The hallways were worn, and the lobby had the saddest fish tanks I’ve seen, plus chairs that smelled like urine. Our key card didn’t work, so we had to go back to the lobby. The beds seemed clean until I lifted the sheets and found sand all over them. The toilet seat was chipped, there was a stain in the bowl that looked easy to remove, and the shower curtain looked long overdue for replacement. We told them about the sand and were given clean sheets, but had to put them on ourselves. After a nap and dinner, we came back to find the kids’ room infested with bugs, even though the doors and windows had stayed shut. We skipped the pool because the water was murky and green. If you can overlook filth, bugs, questionable cleanliness, and poor service, maybe this place is for you. Otherwise, I’d keep scrolling.
