El Petrel Cabañas y Spa de Campo

The two-hectare grounds are lovely, with a stream along the edge and lots of different citrus trees. But the cabins are nearly 2 km from the town square, the only place to buy supplies, and there are no shops nearby. They're 85 years old and could use a lot of work. There was barely any tableware for two adults and a child, so we had to ask for another cup and a frying pan. The sink overflowed when we tried to wash up. Cleanliness was terrible: dirt everywhere, stained sheets, and towels that smelled bad. The owners were hard to find when we needed something. They also charged extra for breakfast. Such a shame. We will never come back!

We ended up leaving ahead of schedule after a few years ago staying at these cabins. The place was a disaster: the sheets were old and ripped, the toilet kept clogging, and one drain had to serve the whole property. The conditions were unacceptable, and the visit was very disappointing.

The grounds are nice, which makes the awful service all the more frustrating. They advertise breakfast but don't provide it, the internet doesn't work, and there's not enough parking for all the cars. When you message or try to get in touch, the people in charge don't respond either. I can't recommend this place at all. There are much nicer options with better service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!!!!

We visited in January 2015, several years ago. The cabins needed better cleaning inside, and the pool looked a bit neglected. The spa wasn't operating then. Still, it's a lovely resort, with a huge, gorgeous park in a beautiful mountain setting. There's a stream at one end, a nice spot to swim or sip mate. I hope things have improved since our stay.
