Chapelco Ski Hotel

Dated, but clean and reasonably priced. It’s fine if you just need somewhere to lay your head.

Breakfast was decent: toast, butter, pastries, croissants, and a bar with juice, fruit, yogurt, and cereal. The staff’s attention to detail really stands out, and they’re super friendly 🫶 The location is excellent, right in the heart of San Martín, though being so central means you’ll almost certainly get a street-facing room, which can be noisy until late. The room feels dated, and some things, including the doorknobs, towel rack, and closets, are in poor condition.

The staff were pleasant enough, though they seemed low on energy, and the hotel looks appealing at first. The room was a letdown for what it cost: the beds sag and aren’t comfortable. The bathroom is acceptable, but having no shower head is inconvenient. There’s no phone number posted for reception, so the room phone is pointless. The website photo also gives a misleading idea of the room.

It’s a pretty worn-down place, though its central location is useful. The lake is about ten blocks away. Breakfast was sparse, and the toast was so dry it seemed days old; the jam was the one good part. The bed wasn’t especially comfortable either, but for a quick overnight stay it gets the job done.
