Hotel Regional Jujuy

We had a “superior” room, but it lacked a hairdryer and bath mat. The shower curtain was in poor shape, and there was barely anywhere to hang towels or set things down. I do appreciate the staff trying to make up for the hotel’s lack of maintenance. It’s a shame, because the hotel itself is nice, and so was the room. After our long day, though, there was no hot water in the shower. When we complained, they said the water heater was off, which was unacceptable. Then at 7 AM there was loud noise, as if repairs were happening, for 40 minutes until we yelled for them to stop.

The service was very good, and the rooms were fine, but the price felt high since breakfast wasn’t included. The hotel is inside a shopping arcade, and someone has to let you in from inside. The area is a bit dark at night and doesn’t feel very secure. It can take a while for someone to come all the way through the arcade and open the door by hand.

The room was small, there wasn’t even a glass for drinking water, and they refused to give guests an extra blanket. The night concierge was discourteous and treated us badly, with no manners. He rode in on his motorcycle and nearly ran over passengers carrying luggage. The concierge needs serious customer service training. Getting in means walking through a dark hallway in what looks like a closed shopping arcade, behind gates that don’t inspire confidence in the security. It’s in a dark part of town, too. Terrible night service. I can’t recommend it. It doesn’t deserve even half a star, though this platform won’t let me say that.

After a very tiring trip, I checked in with my family, already having paid a 50% deposit as instructed when I called after seeing the photos. The room and hotel didn’t look like the photos on the website. There was no remote for the TV, and the screen looked cloudy. We had to ask at reception for towels, and although they gave us the Wi-Fi password, there was no Wi-Fi. Paint was peeling from the bedroom walls, with some spots patched over, and the bathroom was dirty with damp on the ceiling. We felt ripped off. It cost 12,400 pesos and was listed as a 3-star hotel. I don’t know how many stars it really deserves, but we’d already paid, and they didn’t care anymore!
