Cabañas Casa Grande

It looked lovely online and from the outside, but getting to the cabin was a disaster. There was hardly any kitchen equipment: no toaster or chopping board, just one tiny spoon for stirring, and a jumble of mismatched cutlery and glasses. You can’t even cook a sausage. The fans only work on one setting, and there’s no WiFi. The one-room cabins don’t have air conditioning. The refrigerator with freezer was ancient and broke two days before we came home. Luckily, they replaced it and installed a freezer. It wasn’t cheap, and I don’t recommend it at all.

We had an amazing time at this excellent resort. The pool is spectacular, the place felt very safe, and the service was great. I hope to come back.

I’m angry because I paid 55,000 pesos per day, and it really wasn’t worth it. I haven’t had such a bad cabin vacation in years. The one thing that did work well was the electric gate. The pool is big and nice, but there was always trash floating on the surface. Parking was confusing because there was no assigned garage. The toilet tank never stopped filling, and the oven shut off if you tried to use its lowest setting. There wasn’t even a cutting board. The refrigerator was at least 15 years old and had no freezer. When the power went out and it burned out, I bought a new one, so we had a fridge with a freezer for 3 days. The owner, “Franco,” walked by the next day after the fridge had to be replaced and didn’t even say good morning. I rented for 10 days, from January 15th to 25th, and kept having to top up my data because the WiFi they said had burned out in the storm was never fixed. The cable TV was awful, too. The kitchen equipment was terrible: bent knives, no toaster, no electric kettle, just an electric jug that made the water boil over. The ceiling fans were awful. The kitchen fan ran at full speed, and I had to push the bedroom one to get it going. I arrived with my family and they sent us to cabin 10 upstairs because the dates got mixed up. I tried to shower there and only a trickle came out. The next day they moved us to the cabin I’d booked, and it was awful. CABAÑA CASA GRANDE looks great in the photos, but was a disaster in person. I recommend not renting there. There are much better places in Santa Rosa. Regards.

The service was excellent, the place was very nice, and the cabins were super clean.
