Hotel Luna Morena

The best thing was the location, just one block from the beach, and I liked being able to come and go freely. They also accepted pets, which was a big plus. The reception staff were pretty good, and although the pool is five blocks away, the beach was much more convenient for me. They said the room would have air conditioning, but it didn’t, so they gave me standing fans. It’s a shame they promise one thing and deliver another. The room was cleaned very well, with towels changed and the bed made nicely. But soap and shampoo weren’t left each day, so I had to go downstairs to ask for them. Some blankets and sheets were torn, and the bathrooms are quite small. Better bedding would help. The TV picture was good, but the Wi-Fi was unreliable. Breakfast was very good, with mostly fresh pastries and spectacular donuts every day. Some cups and plates hadn’t been washed properly, but that can happen. The game room was disappointing: the pool table was very old and hard to play on.

The staff were all friendly and attentive, and breakfast was fresh, varied, and very complete. The facilities were tidy, in good condition, and well maintained. The shower had good pressure, and the mattresses were very comfortable. Air conditioning was the one thing missing, though the fan was good. For a two-star hotel, it deserves a second star. I highly recommend it.

Breakfast was plentiful, and the experience was good. Getting to our room meant climbing several flights of stairs, with the double bed up on a mezzanine. The pool is several blocks away. We’d requested a room with a Scottish shower, but none were available despite our reservation; only the superior rooms had one. There’s no accessibility assistance for seniors, pregnant women, or people with disabilities.

They advertised a heated pool, but it wasn’t in the hotel, wasn’t even heated, and was four blocks away. The “double” bed was two beds pushed together, and the pillows and cushions were ripped and dirty. The stretchers were broken too. What they showed us wasn’t what we got, and when we brought up the problems, they offered no solution and refused to refund our money. Awful.
