Chacras de Sierra Hotel & Spa

The spa and heated pool are in their own building, separate from the apartments, with no indoor connection between them. Some apartments are upstairs, and getting in from outside can be awkward when it's raining. There's a barbecue area, too. Breakfast is included, while afternoon tea and dinner cost extra. The servings are regular individual portions, and the prices are a little higher than at a restaurant. It doesn't have the usual hotel layout, since the rooms are apartments.

The pool they call heated was cold. When I mentioned it, they said I was young and should swim some laps instead of lying around. At a spa, really? I spent three days there and left very unhappy with the service. No one showed me where the sauna was or switched it on, and the rules weren't explained clearly, including the one about not going into the rooms with dirty shoes. I got some makeup on a towel and was charged $25,000 for it. They said it couldn't be used anymore and that I should use it as a dish towel. Terrible service. I won't be back.

The WiFi was awful, and the breakfast was extremely basic. The pools and loungers looked neglected, and the jacuzzi had no water and was full of dirt. The place itself is very nice, but I don't think it deserves three stars, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The building and grounds are really lovely, which makes the cold heated pool and terrible internet a shame. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good quality, though there wasn't much variety, and for that many guests they had just one toaster.
