Hotel Colonial Tafi del Valle by DOT Tradition

Breakfast was good, and the hotel itself was quiet and very nice. I'd happily stay again.

The hotel is right across from the main square, with the city center two blocks away and the bus terminal three blocks away. We had a standard double with views of the pool, barbecue grills, and valley, and stayed five nights, enjoying all the hotel's different areas. There are plenty of places to spend time, including the pool and barbecue grills, and it's a colorful, lively place. Our bed was really comfortable, and the bathroom shower kept up excellent pressure with no hot-water trouble. The TV had DirecTV. Everyone we met, from reception and housekeeping to the waiters, was warm and friendly. Breakfast was a highlight too, with a delicious, varied buffet and gluten-free options. We loved our stay and will definitely be back! ☺️💕

Breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly, but the room didn't meet the standard we expected after staying at two other DOT hotels in Patagonia, both of which we loved. For the price, this was a disappointment. The room felt neglected: it wasn't clean, especially the bathroom, and there were broken sections of wall, worn finishes, and a dented, marked entrance door. It only had a small skylight, so it was dim, closed in, and poorly ventilated. The bathroom was tiny enough that washing your face at the sink meant standing over the toilet. Its sliding door hit the baseboard and never closed fully, leaving a gap and no privacy, which was uncomfortable for a couple. The shower curtain was worn, and some areas had damp marks or dirt. The place has potential, but it needs better maintenance and more attention to cleanliness.
