Hostal de la Sierra del Tandil

Reception staff were very attentive, but it seemed like the owners were stuck in the past and didn’t know what good service means. The heated pool was cold, and when I mentioned it, an older woman who seemed to be the owner denied it in a very unfriendly way. Breakfast was very poor. On two days in a row, I sat down half an hour before breakfast ended and asked them to replenish the cold cuts. They refused, saying they wouldn’t restock. Just slices of ham and cheese! A mess.

The reception team were really friendly, and I liked the hotel and heated pool. Prices match Tandil, though they’re much higher than in other nearby cities. The room carpets were old and felt a bit unhygienic, and there was no air conditioning. Otherwise, it was fine.

The lounge, breakfast space, and reception were all very nice, and the bathrooms had been remodeled in a modern style. Rooms were standard sized but a little dark. There are 14 rooms and covered parking for about 6 cars. It’s a pleasant hotel just a few blocks from downtown Tandil, with good service and an excellent breakfast. The pool was being maintained during our visit, so we couldn’t use it, but it looked a good size and had a sun deck. Highly recommended!

I was only passing through, so my stay was short, but the hotel was very pleasant and the service very good. The buffet breakfast was fresh and had a great selection. There’s private parking, plus a grill restaurant less than 30 meters away on the same side of the street with excellent barbecue. I didn’t eat at the hostel, though from how it looked, the food must be very good. Greetings from Córdoba.
