Refugio En Las Sierras

Waking up to that view and finding breakfast at the cabin door was magical. The park, pool, and cabin were all impeccable, and the bed was incredible, with a top-quality mattress, pillows, and blankets. The owners were so helpful. The owner knows the trails and tourist spots in Tandil and guided us through what to do. The Refuge was ideal for me.

The grounds were lovely, with a playground for children and a heated pool, and the quiet setting was great for relaxing. There are only a few cabins, which certainly helps. We stayed for a week as a family in Agapanthus, which sleeps up to six and was very well equipped. The owners were outstandingly helpful and attentive. Celeste took care of every detail, from leaving breakfast for us in the mornings to suggesting things to see and do during our time in Tandil. We’ll definitely return on our next visit.

The owners were very attentive, and they sorted out a bathroom problem that came up during our stay. They also suggested places to eat, take a walk, and buy cured meats. We were four in a cabin for six and had plenty of room. It’s cozy, with big windows looking out at the mountains. Set above town and away from the center, the place is surrounded by greenery and is very peaceful, with birds singing all day. The grounds and plants are well cared for. There’s a lovely pool area, though it was too chilly for us to use it. Kids have a little play area with swings, a trampoline, and a wooden playhouse. The owners supplied firewood for a barbecue at the grill. Breakfast is simple but tasty, with homemade bread and jam, dulce de leche, and croissants. I would’ve preferred brewed coffee in a thermos instead of instant. The cabin has kitchen utensils for making simple meals.

We stayed in the “Lavanda” cabin on the weekend of the 30th. It’s a beautiful, comfortable place, and they brought a generous, really tasty breakfast to the cabin each morning. We’ll definitely be back.
