Village Park Hotel

We had a great time over the Carnival long weekend, the five of us. The service and breakfast were good, the grounds were lovely and well maintained, and the common room had lots of games for adults and kids. The heated indoor pool was comfortable and nice, and we used it. I’m giving four stars because the outdoor pool was very dirty and they should try to keep it clean all the time. The reception staff were excellent, very friendly, and treated everyone really well. 🤗

The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and Mayra at reception gave excellent service. There’s good value here, plus plenty of space for kids and a fairly well-equipped playroom. The breakfast was passable. The trouble is how much upkeep the property needs. Both pools need attention, especially the indoor heated one: the water was so murky I couldn’t see my waist, and I think swimming in it may even be dangerous. The playroom has clearly seen better days too. With some care and maintenance, this place could be wonderful.

The food was a real problem on our 7th graduation trip with Tourism Recrear. Meals were often cold, leftover salads were collected and served again, and the breaded cutlets were tough and seemed reheated. One morning they served cake at breakfast that tasted like poison. We had to ask them to take it away and remove it from all the children who had eaten it. The juices weren’t natural, despite what they claimed. The hotel was advertised as 5-star, but barely felt like 2-star. The pool water was green on the first day, and the playground equipment couldn’t be used because it needed maintenance. Many rooms had broken wardrobes with no shelves, broken beds, and faulty locks. Cleanliness was lacking, there weren’t enough staff, and they weren’t trained to manage large groups of children.

The grounds and pools were in great shape, and the rooms were spacious and lovely, with blackout curtains. Sergio and the staff were incredibly attentive, and the service was 10/10. They had activities for the kids all the time, like zip-lining, a carnival, and a bonfire. The attention to detail for children was outstanding. We had a wonderful few days. I forgot to mention the breakfast was very complete. Highly recommended.
