Carnavalito Hostel Tilcara

We had a great time and will be back soon. There was always water for showers and dishes, and the patio had a grapevine, lemon verbena, a little grill, and a table. The kitchen was new and worked well, so we cooked on several days. It’s rustic but cozy, with all the amenities we needed. The house is huge, the price was reasonable, and everything was easy to access. A good choice for families or a trip with friends.

The people at Carnavalito were so friendly, and breakfast was excellent. It’s in a great spot in Tilcara, just three blocks from Belgrano Street, a central street lined with food stalls. I also liked Saratoga bar there, with its good music and great atmosphere. I’d choose this place again if I return to Tilcara.

The kitchen was awful, with a disgusting sink and moldy refrigerators. Our room arrangements were a mess too. For a two-night stay, the room we’d booked wasn’t available the first night, and the next night we weren’t given the key to move rooms. No one answered the phone or WhatsApp, so we waited three hours. We didn’t even get an apology for the poor service.

The room we got faced the street and was incredibly dark and unhygienic. The place didn’t match what we’d seen on the booking website, and the staff who helped us weren’t friendly at all. I don’t recommend it.
