Don’t let the uphill road put you off! The lodge is gorgeous, and the hotel is clean and beautiful, with a great view of Tilcara. It feels safe, and this is a regular hotel stay, not some Airbnb or hostel. The rooms are really cool and cute, and it’s about a 12-minute walk to the principal supermarket. I nearly skipped the place the first time because I was on my adventure motorcycle, it was getting late, and the road didn’t look maintained. But it turned out to be totally safe and well worth the drive. When I’m exploring northern Chaco, I stay here. Pablo has always been kind about letting me work late or check out late. The price is reasonable for Argentina Chaco.

They were so friendly and easygoing, and even offered to keep our luggage while we went on excursions. The rooms were lovely and really comfortable. Breakfast had sweet and savory snacks, yogurt, orange juice, and freshly made scrambled eggs. It was excellent.

Mariela, her sister, and Maxi gave excellent service, and the room and location were very good. But the restaurant was terrible: the roast chicken was still bloody inside and the potatoes were raw. The peanut soup was bad too. We were there on a tour, and the room really should have air conditioning.

The cabins are roomy and very clean, with spotless linens and a complete, clean bathroom. The view from the cabin is wonderful, and the location has a great view too. Service was very good, and breakfast was tasty and generous. The pousada was excellent. The only thing missing was a minibar.
